How many bottles can a perfume collection box hold?
Two to five is the usual range on a stepped tray. Larger counts are possible on a flat tray in a wider box.

Written prices from £0.25 a box. Free proof, made in 4–6 business days, free tracked UK delivery.
Rigid coffret boxes with a fitted tray that holds two or more full-size bottles as one set. Hinged lid, lift-off lid or sleeve, with a stepped tray so every label faces forward.

| Three 100 ml bottles | About 260 x 90 x 160 mm |

Perfume collection boxes are rigid boxes with a fitted tray that present two to five full-size bottles as one set.
They open with a hinged lid, a lift-off lid or a sleeve, and arrive assembled with the tray glued in. We make the tray to your bottles and confirm the build on a written quote.
A perfume collection box is a rigid box with a fitted tray that holds two or more full-size bottles as one set.
The gold box in the photos has a hinged lid that folds back and a stepped tray with three 100 ml bottles standing in a row.
Brands use it for trios, his and hers pairs, and seasonal sets. It is also how a boutique or a counter shows a range in one piece rather than three separate cartons.
Unlike a single carton, nothing here folds flat. The box arrives made up, with the tray glued in, ready for your bottles.
Three constructions cover most collection boxes, with a magnetic flap as a fourth option.
Each changes how the set opens and how it stands on a shelf.
If you only need the magnetic version for a single bottle, our magnetic lid perfume boxes cover that on their own.
| Style | How it opens | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| Hinged lid, book style | Lid folds back on a board hinge | Counter display with the lid as a backdrop |
| Lid and base | Lid lifts straight off | Gift sets that are wrapped or sleeved |
| Sleeve and tray | Tray pulls out of a printed sleeve | Slim sets of two bottles, easier to post |
| Magnetic closure | Front flap held by hidden magnets | Sets opened many times at home |
Collection boxes cost more per unit than cartons, so they tend to be ordered by brands with a set to sell rather than a single scent.
A set bought as a present rather than for the buyer often needs a message card and a plainer outer, which is where our perfume gift boxes for presents come in.
Start with the bottle footprint, including the cap, and the height with the cap on.
A 100 ml rectangular bottle is often about 65 mm wide, 35 mm deep and 140 mm tall.
Three in a row with 12 mm between them and 15 mm to each wall gives a tray about 240 mm long. Add the tray walls and the rigid board, and the outer box is around 260 x 90 x 160 mm.
Round bottles need a deeper cut-out than square ones at the same volume. Send a bottle and we measure it, which is safer than reading a supplier drawing.
Collection boxes are built on rigid greyboard, usually 1.5 mm to 2 mm, wrapped in printed paper.
The wrap carries the print and the greyboard carries the weight of the glass.
Inside, the lid lining is printed too, which is why the gold box reads as one colour inside and out. A contrasting lining is an easy way to make the bottles stand out.
Board, rigid and finish options are available on request; the quote states the thickness we pick from the set weight. For a single bottle in the same build, see our luxury rigid perfume boxes.
A flat tray hides the back row.
A stepped or tiered tray lifts each bottle so the labels all face forward at a slight tilt, which is what you see in the gold box.
Trays are die cut card or foam, wrapped or flocked to match the lining. Card, foam or tissue inserts are available on request, and foam is the usual choice when bottles weigh over 300 g.
Leave a finger gap on each side of every cut-out. A bottle that has to be prised out is a bottle that gets dropped.
On a hinged box the open lid becomes a backdrop behind the bottles.
Keep a logo or a single line there and let the bottles do the rest.
Foil stamping on a metallic or textured board option is popular for fragrance sets. Soft touch lamination, spot UV over a pattern, and embossing of the logo are all options we can proof. Our page on print finishes for beauty packaging shows every effect on a rigid wrap.
Add a bottle count and volume on the base edge, as the gold box does with 100 ml x 3. UK buyers expect to see it before opening.
A rigid box with a foam tray protects bottles well, but three full bottles can weigh over a kilo.
The outer parcel needs to carry that without the lid taking the load.
Place tissue over the bottles so the lid lining does not rub against the caps. Then box the set in an outer carton with padding on all six sides. A fitted outer from our printed cosmetic mailer boxes does that job.
Keep the collection box itself away from the parcel walls by at least 20 mm. That gap is what stops a corner knock reaching the wrap.
Not every set is three bottles of perfume.
The white box in the photos holds a 100 ml spray, a body lotion tube and a body spray in one moulded tray, sold as a gift set.
Mixed sets need a tray with cut-outs of different depths, so the tube does not sit higher than the bottle. We plan the layout from your product dimensions and send a drawing with the proof.
A clear window in the lid is an option for mixed sets in retail, where the buyer wants to see every item. Sets that mix skincare and fragrance also sit in our gift and subscription box range.
Ordering before the bottles are final.
A tray cut for one cap height will not fit a taller replacement cap, and rigid boxes cannot be adjusted after they are made.
Choosing a thin tray to save cost. A light card tray under 100 ml bottles sags and the bottles lean, which spoils the shelf look.
Forgetting the lid lift. On a lid and base box with a tight fit, add a thumb notch or a sleeve, or the customer struggles to open it. Try the lid layout against your logo in Design Your Packaging on this site before the proof stage.
Rigid sets take a little more planning than cartons, so send what you have.
Each order is quoted on its own count, from £0.25 per unit; the written quote fixes the figure for your set.
Report any print fault or courier knock with photos inside 10 days and the set is remade or refunded. Email info@thecosmeticpackaging.co.uk or contact our packaging team on WhatsApp.
Choose a real photo of the box you have in mind, put your logo on it, pick a colour and finish, and send it over. Our designers turn it into a free, print-ready proof.

The more we know about what goes inside, the bottle or jar, the quantity and the look you are after, the sharper the price. A packaging specialist replies within one business day with a written quote and a free design proof.
