This policy explains what we collect when you use thecosmeticpackaging.co.uk or contact us, why we collect it and how long we keep it. We follow the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect and why
When you send a form, email, call or WhatsApp message, we collect what you give us: your name, email address, phone number if provided, business name, the packaging you are asking about and any files you upload.
We use it to quote, proof, make and deliver your order and to answer your questions. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract and performing that contract.

Analytics and cookies
The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used, and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors move through pages.
Both set cookies and record usage data such as pages viewed, the device and browser, an approximate location from the IP address, and interactions with the page. Clarity may record how a session unfolds, with form fields masked. Neither is used to identify you by name. You can block these cookies in your browser without affecting your ability to request a quote.

How long we keep your data
Enquiry details are kept for 24 months from your last contact so we can answer follow-up questions and quote reorders.
Order records, invoices and approved proofs are kept for six years to meet UK tax and accounting rules. Analytics data is kept for the period set in each service, currently up to 24 months for Google Analytics, after which it is deleted or aggregated. Uploaded artwork is kept with the order record.

Who we share it with
Your details go to the people and services needed to fulfil your order: our production partners who print the boxes, the delivery service that carries them, our email provider and the chat service that runs the on-site chat.
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for marketing.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our use of it or ask for a copy to take elsewhere.
Email the address in the footer and we reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

The more we know about what goes inside, the bottle or jar, the quantity and the look you are after, the sharper the price. A packaging specialist replies within one business day with a written quote and a free design proof.

Do you use my artwork for anything else?
No. Artwork and logos are used only to prepare and print your order and are kept with your order record.
Can I ask you to delete my details?
Yes. Email us and we delete enquiry details on request. Order records that we must keep for tax purposes are kept for the required period and then deleted.
Do you record phone calls or WhatsApp messages?
Phone calls are not recorded. WhatsApp messages stay in the chat history so we can refer back to your order.
What does Microsoft Clarity record?
How visitors move through pages, including clicks and scrolling. Form fields are masked so what you type is not recorded.
Is my data stored in the UK?
Our email, analytics and chat providers may store data on servers outside the UK under their standard contractual safeguards. Order records are held by us.
Can I use the site without cookies?
Yes. Blocking analytics cookies in your browser does not stop any form or page from working.

How do I make a data request?
