What are bath bomb mailer boxes?

Bath bomb mailer boxes are corrugated boxes with a hinged lid and a tuck front that go through the post without an outer box.

They hold a set of four, six or nine bombs on crinkle paper or in a divider, and the lid can be printed inside. We size them to your bomb and set count and confirm it on a written quote.

What is a bath bomb mailer box?

A bath bomb mailer box is a corrugated box with a hinged lid and a tuck front, strong enough to go through the post on its own.

The kraft box in the photos holds five bombs on crinkle paper. The white one has an inside printed lid and six bombs in a tighter fit.

Mailers differ from retail cartons. There is no window, the board is corrugated rather than flat, and the closure is designed to be opened once, by the customer at home.

They are made to your set count, usually four, six or nine bombs, and arrive flat.

Why bath bombs need a corrugated mailer

A bath bomb chips when it hits another bomb or a hard wall.

In a padded envelope the bombs press against each other and arrive with flat spots and dust.

E flute corrugated, about 1.5 mm thick, gives the walls a cushion that flat board does not. B flute, about 3 mm, is an option for nine-bomb sets or heavy jumbo bombs.

A mailer also means one box, not two. The customer opens the parcel and sees the brand straight away, with no plain outer to throw away first. Other beauty products posted the same way are on our cosmetic mailer boxes range page.

What size mailer fits six bath bombs?

Six 60 mm bombs in two rows of three need an inside space of about 215 x 145 mm, with 70 mm of height for crinkle under and over.

Allow 10 mm more each way for a divider.

Mailers are measured inside, because the corrugated wall takes 1.5 mm to 3 mm on each face. Give us the bomb size and the count and we set the internal size. Bomb diameters by mould are listed in our guide to bath bomb packaging.

Crinkle paper, dividers or a foam insert?

Crinkle paper is the cheapest and looks generous when the lid opens.

It does not stop the bombs touching, so it suits wrapped bombs of the same size.

A card divider gives each bomb a cell and stops contact. It adds a little to the box size and is the usual choice for unwrapped or decorated bombs.

Foam with round cut-outs is the gift route. It holds each bomb still and looks tidy, at a higher cost. Card, foam or tissue inserts are available on request. Sets that also need a retail carton inside the mailer can use our divided bath bomb boxes.

Inside print: the lid is the first thing seen

When a mailer opens, the customer sees the inside of the lid before the product.

The white box prints the brand name there with a line of text underneath.

Inside print is available on these boxes. Keep it to one or two colours on the lid interior and the base, since the corrugated inside face is less smooth than the outside.

Outside, plain kraft with a single colour logo is the most common. Full colour on a white outer liner is an option when the parcel is the brand's main contact with the customer.

Who posts bath bombs in printed mailers?

Any bath maker who sells online ends up here.

The mailer replaces a plain box and a retail carton with one printed piece.

Monthly schemes with changing contents can start from our beauty subscription box designs and borrow the same insert.

  • Online sellers shipping sets of four to nine from a home studio
  • Subscription services sending a monthly bath bomb selection
  • Gift shops with a mail order side
  • Wholesale makers sending samples to new stockists
  • Wedding favour sellers posting a batch to the couple

Board grades and the tuck front closure

The box is one piece of corrugated board, die cut and creased.

The lid hinges from the back wall, folds over and tucks a flap into the front, with two side tabs that lock the ends.

That tuck front is what holds in the post. It does not need tape, though many sellers add a branded sticker across the flap.

Board, rigid and finish options are available on request. The quote names E or B flute based on the bomb count and weight. The mailer sits beside tuck and auto-lock cartons in our guide to carton and mailer styles.

Keeping moisture and oil off the board in transit

Corrugated board takes in moisture faster than flat board, and a bomb that gets damp in the post fizzes in the box.

Wrap every bomb before packing, and keep stock dry.

Fragrance oil leaves a patch on kraft within days. A white inner liner option hides it less than you might think, so wrapping is the real fix.

If the parcel might sit on a doorstep, a bag around the mailer is a sensible extra and we can size the box to suit one. The empty mailers come to you by free tracked UK delivery in 2–3 business days.

Mistakes we see on bath bomb mailers

Too much headroom.

A mailer 30 mm taller than the bombs lets them bounce, however much crinkle goes in. Keep the height to the bomb plus about 10 mm.

Using the mailer as a retail box. Corrugated board prints softer than boxboard, so if the same box must sit on a shelf, ask about a white liner.

Forgetting the return journey. Some customers send sets back, so a tuck front that re-closes is worth more than a tear strip. Makers who post bath salts alongside bombs can match the mailer to our bath salt boxes in the same range.

How do I order bath bomb mailer boxes?

Tell us the bomb size, the count and whether you want crinkle, a divider or foam.

Pricing follows the count, from £0.25 per unit, and the written quote is the figure that stands.

Bath Bomb Mailer Boxes: questions buyers ask

Not answered here? Call +44 7578 382054, message our packaging team on WhatsApp or email info@thecosmeticpackaging.co.uk.

Can a bath bomb mailer box be posted without an outer box?

Yes, that is what it is for. The corrugated walls and tuck front are built to travel on their own, with a label on the lid.

Which flute do you use for bath bomb mailers?

E flute, about 1.5 mm, for most sets. B flute, about 3 mm, is an option for nine-bomb sets or jumbo bombs.

Can the mailer lid be printed inside?

Yes, inside print is available. One or two colours on the lid interior is the usual choice.

Do bath bomb mailers come with crinkle paper?

Crinkle paper, a card divider or foam are insert options on request. Tell us which you want and we size the box for it.

How many bath bombs fit in one mailer box?

Four, six or nine are the usual sets, in a 2 x 2, 2 x 3 or 3 x 3 layout. Other counts are made to order.

Will the bombs break in a bath bomb mailer?

A snug mailer with a divider or foam keeps them still, which is what prevents chips. Headroom over about 10 mm is the usual cause of damage.

Is a divider better than crinkle paper for bath bombs?

A divider stops the bombs touching, so it suits unwrapped or decorated bombs. Crinkle suits wrapped bombs of one size.

Can I use the mailer box as a subscription box?

Yes. The same mailer with a changing insert works for a monthly selection, and the lid print can stay constant.
