Eyelash boxes are small printed boxes made to hold a pair of strip lashes on a clear tray.
Most are about 105 x 55 mm and 20 to 25 mm deep. The common styles are a window carton, a slide drawer box and a rigid magnetic lid box, each cut to the tray inside.
A pair of strip lashes sits on a clear plastic tray, held by its band on two small ridges.
The box exists to keep that tray flat and the lash band from bending.
The box is shallow, usually 20 to 25 mm, because the tray only needs a few millimetres of air above the lash. Any deeper and the tray slides about.
Studios that sell lashes at the chair want the lash visible, so a round or oval window above the tray is the usual choice. The pink box in our photos does exactly that, with foil around the window.
Lash studios and lash technicians are the biggest group.
A tech who applies lashes all day sells strip pairs for nights out, and a branded box makes that a product rather than an afterthought.
Lash brands selling online need a box that posts flat and unboxes well on camera. Beauty salons, brow bars and bridal makeup artists order smaller runs for their retail shelf.
Lashes sit with lipsticks and polish in our makeup, lash and nail range, so a studio can match its lash box to a gloss carton.
Most lash trays are about 95 x 45 mm.
The carton that fits one is roughly 105 x 55 mm and 22 mm deep. That leaves 5 mm each side for the insert and a little above the lash.
Dramatic 25 mm lashes come on a longer tray, so the box grows to about 115 x 60 mm. Measure the tray, not the lash, because the tray is what has to sit flat.
The table lists sizes we are asked for most. Other small cartons are on our cosmetic box sizes for UK brands page.
| Lash product | Tray size | Box inside size |
|---|---|---|
| Standard strip lash, single pair | 95 x 45 mm | 105 x 55 x 22 mm |
| 25 mm dramatic lash | 105 x 50 mm | 115 x 60 x 25 mm |
| Half lash or accent lash | 70 x 40 mm | 80 x 50 x 20 mm |
| Twin pack | Two 95 x 45 mm trays | 105 x 55 x 40 mm |
| Pair with a 5 ml glue tube | 95 x 45 mm plus tube | 130 x 55 x 25 mm |
A window carton is the everyday lash box.
It is a folding tuck end with a round or oval cut-out, cheap enough to sell a single pair and quick to pack.
A drawer box, like the white ones stacked in our photos, slides open to show the tray. It costs more, but it stacks neatly on a counter and feels like a keeper.
A rigid magnetic lid box is for premium pairs and multipacks. The lid snaps shut over the tray and the box stays on the dressing table. Our cosmetic box styles guide covers the three builds.
The tray needs to stay flat and central.
A card insert with a cut-out the size of the tray does that. It also lifts the tray so the lash sits level with the window.
Without an insert the tray slides and the lash band can catch on the box edge, which bends it. A bent band is a returned lash.
If you supply your own trays, send one with your enquiry. We cut the insert to that tray rather than to a guessed size.
Folding boxboard around 350 gsm is right for a window carton.
It is stiff enough for a box this small and folds a clean edge around the window.
Drawer boxes and magnetic boxes use rigid greyboard with a printed wrap. That is why the white drawer boxes in our photos have such square corners.
Soft touch lamination with rose gold foil on the name is the finish most lash brands ask for. Pink, white and black boards are the usual bases, and other boards, rigid builds and finishes are available on request.
A lash box is viewed from above, lying flat or stacked.
The top panel carries the brand, the style name and the window, and that is all it needs.
Style names matter more than people think. A customer who liked a pair last month asks for it by name. Print the name large on the top and again on the end panel for stacking.
The back panel can carry fitting instructions and the glue advice. For a line-up of styles, our counter display units for small boxes hold 12 lash boxes on their edge.
Usually, yes.
A 22 mm deep window carton fits most letterbox-size mailers, which keeps postage low for a single pair sold online.
Twin packs and magnetic boxes are deeper, so they go in a small mailer box instead. Keep the lash box from sliding inside the mailer with a tissue wrap or a card divider.
For multipacks posted together, our cosmetic mailer boxes for lash orders are cut to hold three or five lash boxes flat.
The first is sizing the box to the lash instead of the tray.
Lashes vary by style but the tray is fixed, and the tray is what has to fit.
The second is a window that is too large. A big window weakens the top panel of a small carton and shows the tray edges, so keep the window inside the tray outline.
The third is leaving the end panels blank. Lash boxes are stacked and stored on their edge, and a blank end means nobody can find the style they want.
Send us the tray size, the style of box, your style names and a rough quantity.
Boxes are quoted per order, from £0.25 per unit, and the written quote confirms the figure for your size and finish.
You get a free proof with the window position and foil shown before we print. Production is 4 to 6 business days after approval, then free tracked delivery to a UK address in 2 to 3 business days. Misprinted or damaged boxes reported within 10 days with photos are reprinted or refunded. The Design Your Packaging logo preview lets you see your name on a lash box first.
Choose a real photo of the box you have in mind, put your logo on it, pick a colour and finish, and send it over. Our designers turn it into a free, print-ready proof.

The more we know about what goes inside, the bottle or jar, the quantity and the look you are after, the sharper the price. A packaging specialist replies within one business day with a written quote and a free design proof.
